Students from the University of Chester’s Business School have experienced a behind the scenes visit at one of the country’s most famous hotel brands as part of their studies.
The group, who are in the first year of a BA (Hons) in International Tourism Management, visited the Premier Inn on City Road in Chester to take a tour of the facilities with Assistant Manager, David Griffiths.
David said: "It is important that we not only impart knowledge about our business, but also aim to inspire entry to the industry."
During the visit, students were able to appreciate the real-world management challenges of running a city-centre hotel and found Assistant Manager David Griffiths and Chef Rob Grainger to be highly informative and engaging.
Jacqueline Hughes-Lundy, Senior Lecturer, thanked the team for their hospitality, honesty and professionalism when speaking with the students. Dr Ann Hindley from Chester Business School, said: "It is critical for our students to be able to link theory and practice, so we are incredibly grateful to the team at Premier Inn for helping us achieve this."
